Is it Time to Make High School Recruiting Legal?

Whether you know it or not, high school recruiting is happening and has been happening since high schools opened.

Kids from lesser high school programs transfer to high-powered programs season after season. Recruiting in high school is a violation, however, schools, coaches, parents, and alumni continue to break the rules.

Some school systems and state associations are attempting to prevent kids from transferring without penalty.

What if schools just allowed recruiting, just like they do for certain academic programs at high schools? What if the opportunity to cheat was taken away and everyone had the same freedom to go after top scholars and players?

Should high schools sports become more regulated or less regulated in terms of recruiting?
